About This Spot

Stepping into Joney Cafe is like entering a quietly cherished corner of Brookfield where the hustle slows down and a sense of calm settles in. Nestled within the welcoming arms of the Shaker House Building, this cafe invites you to pause and soak in a living-room atmosphere touched by thoughtful, eclectic touches — mismatched chairs, leafy plants, and glassware that seem chosen as much for their character as their function. It’s a place that feels lived-in yet cared-for, where time moves at a gentler pace.

The warmth of the space echoes in the kindness of its people, and there's a subtle generosity that runs through every interaction, setting the tone for a low-key but memorable experience. Here, the kitchen hums quietly, bringing forth dishes that speak both of home and heritage. Familiar comforts like avocado toast with egg or a robust beef sandwich carry more than flavor; they carry a sense of heartfelt effort, as if each plate has been crafted to gently wake your senses without ever rushing you out the door.

One of the true delights found here is the poetic layering of traditional Chilean flavors in unexpected ways — a toasted hot dog crowned with fresh avocado and tomato, or delicate pastries that unfold sweetness like a well-kept secret. Coffee is more than a morning ritual at Joney; it’s a chance to savor something carefully brewed, whether you opt for a mocca latte or an impeccable cappuccino. This is a cafe where each sip and bite invites you to slow your roll and appreciate the simple satisfaction of honest ingredients prepared with care.

What stands out most is how effortlessly the cafe balances a quiet intimacy with a sense of welcome — this is not just a spot to grab a quick bite, but a place where locals find a comfortable nook to breathe, connect, or simply enjoy a few unhurried moments. It's an embrace of both community and comfort, quietly alive with the joy of modest pleasures.

This restaurant is an absolute hidden gem in the Stonewood Village of Brookfield. I find myself gravitating to the relaxed atmosphere that offer you a moment to breathe and center. The food is DELISH! The owner is delightful with a huge beaming smile. If you are looking to slow your roll and enjoy some authentic Chilean empanadas, this place is IT!!!!

This is fresh cooked food, so expect a comfy wait in this living room like setting. The menu is limited, just like my mothers kitchen. I never expected a simple sandwich to slap my taste buds so hard. Highly recommended.

Omg this place is another level! Best empanadas I ever had and best cappuccino. You can actually taste the love and effort that they are putting in this food. Feels like a warm hug. The enviroment it's just beautiful and the people working here are so nice and kind I drove 30 min and it was totally worth it! They need to get more popular definitely because they deserve it

We stopped for coffee and it was great! We loved that each table had different chairs and water glasses. There was so many plants and the owners were very friendly. We're only in town for the weekend but would absolutely go again if we came back here.

I'd been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally got the chance today. It. was. AWESOME! Very friendly and attentive service, great coffee and tea, and absolutely amazing empanadas. The decor is eclectic and homey in the best way. This spot is the very definition of a hidden gem.

Lovely spot for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Food is delicious and the Authentic Chilean selections are outshined only by the lovely family that prepares them for you. Authentic place in Brookfield. The Chilean baked empanada is a highlight and the thousand layer cake is decadence on a plate. I might be back tomorrow.

Such an amazing hidden gem! The atmosphere and ambience was so relaxing, and the hot chocolate warmed us up on a cold November day. Would recommend highly to everyone!

What a cute hidden gem. The empanadas were so delicious! We tried the mushroom and cheese. The patio outside was so cozy and quiet. There was plenty of space for my toddler to wander around without interrupting anyone. Highly recommend and Will definitely be back. The owner was so sweet and kind as well!
